Frequently Asked
Questions
Do I need to audition?
No audition is required to attend our theatre, street dance or singing courses. We are open to all abilities and welcome everyone. We may hold auditions in class for solos and specific parts in our show but these will always be optional for students.

Our 'show team' productions do operate on an audition basis only. All information for the audition process can be found on our show team page here.
How much is it?
Course fees vary depending on the programme enrolled in. Fees are charged as an annual amount and split into 12 equal monthly payments, providing a consistent payment schedule throughout the year.

Payments will still be collected in August, even when classes are not running, as monthly instalments contribute towards the total annual tuition fee across the academic year.

We operate an all inclusive fee and do not charge a costume fee, production fee or enforce minimum ticket spend. Please see our additional fees section to see any other charges that may occur.

For full details regarding payments and billing, please refer to our full Terms & Conditions.
What is the leave notice?
We require one full calendar month’s notice to withdraw from classes. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email to hello@hazzatheatreacademy.com.

Monthly payments are collected on the 1st of each month. If notice is given on or after the 1st, this will result in that months and the following month’s payment still being due.

Please note that your final payment contributes towards the annual course fee, which is spread across 12 monthly instalments, rather than payment for a single month of classes. This structure allows us to keep monthly costs lower and ensure classes remain consistently available throughout the year.
Do I stay?
Our classes operate on a drop off basis only. This is due to our venue capacity and safeguarding policy. We have also found that students develop more and work better when left with our incredible team!
When can I arrive?
Class doors open on the dot to when your class starts. You will be emailed details regarding how our drop off and collection works when you sign up as this varies from venue to venue. It is crucial that students arrive on time to rehearsals to ensure they run smoothly.
What are the additional fees?
Alongside your course membership fees, below is any additional fees that you may face:
- Showcase Ticket Fees
- HTA Show T-shirt
- Showcase Recording (Optional)
- Rehearsal T-shirt (Optional)
- Workshop/ Camps/ Intensives (Optional)
We have no hidden fees as we understand how expensive the performing arts industry can be!
What if I miss a rehearsal?
That’s fine as long as you give us as much notice as possible, as this helps with planning productions and class preparation. However, if a student misses more than three consecutive weeks without a valid reason, or attendance falls below 70%, we may need to review their enrolment at HTA. Consistent attendance is essential to our training and performance standards.

Additional opportunities are based on merit, commitment, and attitude. Students are also responsible for catching up on any missed work.
Do I need to wear a Uniform?
There is no required uniform for classes, however all students must follow our essential dress code. This includes practical, comfortable clothing that allows for full movement, suitable trainers, and long hair tied back. Students arriving in unsuitable clothing or with their hair not tied back will not be able to take part in class.

We recommend purchasing a rehearsal T-shirt for classes (optional). However, it is mandatory for all students participating in our showcase to have an HTA Show T-shirt. Old uniforms will continue to be accepted until June 2028.

Not permitted: skirts, denim, Crocs, sandals, boots, or school uniforms.

In addition, students must bring their lyrics and scripts to every session to ensure classes run smoothly and effectively.
What do I need to bring?
To help students stay organised and get the most out of rehearsals, all students are required to bring a folder for their scripts and lyrics to every session. Having everything in one place helps rehearsals run smoothly and ensures students are fully prepared to take part.

If a student forgets their folder for more than three consecutive weeks, we may need to review their enrolment at HTA, as consistent preparation is an important part of our training and performance standards.

We also strongly recommend bringing a water bottle each week, performing can be energetic work, and staying hydrated helps students stay focused, confident, and ready to perform at their best.
Will my child be in the show?
If your child is enrolled in one of our Theatre or Street Dance courses, they will automatically take part in our Summer Showcase, giving them a fantastic opportunity to perform and share what they’ve learned. Our Singing course is focused on developing technique and skills, so students will not typically perform in the showcase unless they are specifically invited.

Students who are successfully selected for our Show Team Musical will also have the exciting opportunity to be part of that production.
When is the Show?
Our end of year showcase usually takes part in Summer. This will be confirmed for you on your first session and is available to view in your student hub. This is a full scale production in a professional theatre with set, lighting and costume. All students who are part of our theatre classes and street dance class take part in this.

Our Show teams musical usually takes place around Spring time.
Who are the teachers?
Our team of talented individuals are enhanced DBS checked, insured and we always have a first aider on site. Each class has 1 dedicated teacher with the assistant teacher rotating from week to week. We prioritise a strong bond with our students and feel it is important for them to know all members of staff. A lot of our teachers also work for our entertainment company so you may recognise some of them!
My child attend your classes, will they be cast in the show team?
Our show team auditions are entirely fair and impartial. Selection is based solely on performance during the audition process, not on prior experience within our school. Participation in our school does not guarantee a place in the show team, as roles are awarded annually based on individual progress and merit demonstrated at the audition.
